Va. woman sentenced for granddaughter's murder

Carmela dela Rosa was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Angelyn Ogdoc in November 2010 at the Tysons Corner shopping mall outside Washington, D.C.
At her trial in Fairfax, Va., in October, dela Rosa's lawyer failed to convince the jury that she was insane at the time of the incident.
In a videotaped confession, she told police she killed Angelyn to get back at her son-in-law for getting her daughter pregnant out of wedlock, the Associated Press reports.
In court, dela Rosa apologized for her actions.
