Synology during Computex showed the DS3611xs, the 12-bay NAS DS3611xs which packs the Sandy Bridge processor during 3.1 GHz (we suppose the Core i3-2100), 2 GB of RAM (expandable to 8 GB). Four USB 2.0 ports, dual InfiniBand ports and- 4 Gigabit connectors (or dual 10 GbE).
The brook can house twelve drives, 3 TB each, for the sum of 36 terabytes. But if we need some-more space, we can bond up to dual DX1211 enlargement units, any with an one more twelve bays in sequence to strech the sum genius of over 100 terabytes.
These will begin shipping in July, though you’d improved have your checkbook ready as they’re starting to price over $2000.
