App review: White Pages’ Localicious
Remember the White Pages? The bound, paper listing of local businesses sorted by category is so last decade. Make that book a booster seat for the kids and fire up the White Pages app Localicious, which gives you all the information of those listings, plus maps, trends, Foursquare integration and the occasional review.
Even better, with its location features switched on, you can look for services nearby. Snap a high heel on a sidewalk grate? Search "shoe repair," and you won't have far to hobble. Or if you're looking for a nearby deli, you can call up the results and call from inside the app. Localicious has its limitations — some of the listings aren't up to date, and others don't have reviews, so it can be a shot in the dark.
