On Thursday, the Metro board is scheduled to take up a staff request to schedule hearings across the D.C. region on proposed changes to dozens of bus routes. If the board approves, the hearings could be scheduled for the week of Oct. 10. Then the board would have to decide whether to accept or modify the proposals. Service changes would take effect by the middle of 2012.
