Politics merged with fashion Sunday, as Lauren Bush, the niece of former president George W. Bush, married David Lauren, son of fashion designer Ralph Lauren, at a ranch in Colorado's Rocky Mountains, People reports. The couple met in 2004 and got engaged last year.
Bush, 27, and Lauren, 39, exchanged vows in a ceremony at Ralph Lauren's 17,000-acre Double RL Ranch outside Telluride. The dress code? "Black tie with a Western twist," said reports. A post-wedding rodeo was scheduled for Labor Day.
Former president George W. Bush, former first lady Laura Bush, cousins Jenna and Barbara Bush, and former Florida governor Jeb Bush were among 200 in attendance at the ceremony. Grandparents George H.W. and Barbara Bush did not attend because of health concerns related to the altitude, ABCNews.com reported, but they sent a video message. The bride's divorced parents, Sharon and Neil, walked her down the aisle for a Jewish ceremony.
