Sheriff: Man who opened fire at Nev. restaurant has died of self-inflicted wounds

CARSON CITY, Nev. — Authorities say the man who shot multiple people at a restaurant in Nevada's capital city has died of self-inflicted wounds.

Carson City Sheriff Kenny Furlong says the man had a rifle and began shooting in and around the IHOP restaurant in a strip mall Tuesday morning. He wounded six people and killed two uniformed National Guard members and a third person.

Furlong says the gunman also shot himself and was transported to a Reno hospital, where he died. His name wasn't released.
