Maryland football has no answer for Sammy Watkins, Clemson in 56-45 loss

Four years ago, the Maryland football team broke ground on a graveyard outside its football practice field, adding a tombstone with every win over a top 10 team.

As Maryland built an 18-point third-quarter lead over No. 8 Clemson on Saturday, it looked as if the Terrapins were about to add to their tombstone collection. But they could not keep pace with the explosive Tigers, who emerged with a 56-45 victory and left the home team with only one consolation: It may have found a much needed offensive spark in quarterback C.J. Brown.
