Bank Indonesia Promises to be Always in The Market to Stabilize Rupiah

Bank Indonesia is “always“ in the market to stabilize the rupiah and government bonds, a central banker said Tuesday.

“We remain committed to be in the market to keep the rupiah's value in line with the other regional currencies,“ Bank Indonesia Director for Monetary Research Perry Warjiyo told reporters.

Dealers suspect the central bank of selling dollars almost every day recently to defend the local unit against a fresh wave of capital outflows.
