Relatives of Ex-President of Tunisia 18 Year Prison Sentence

TUNIS - Court in the capital city of Tunisia sentenced him to 18 years in prison and a fine of 150,000 dinars in Tunisia Imed Trabelsi, nephew of the wife of former president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, a fine of 150,000 dinars Tunisia, for his part in a blank check spending, according to the office TAP Tunisia news, Friday (11/25/2011).
Imed Trabelsi's lawyer has requested the suspension of the case against his client, but the judge refused and decided to issue a penalty.

Leila Trabelsi is now believed to live in Saudi Arabia, where the former president and his family were given asylum, while his brother a millionaire businessman, had fled to Canada.
