Iraqi officials say death toll in wave of Baghdad bombings climbs to 18, with dozens injured

BAGHDAD — Iraqi officials say the death toll in a wave of bombings in Baghdad has climbed to 18 people.

There were at least nine blasts across the Iraqi capital on Thursday morning and dozens of people were injured.

The worst attack was in the al-Amal neighborhood where at least seven people were killed in a blast that appeared to target rescuers and officials who came to the scene after a previous explosion.
