SBY Has Bilateral Meeting with Christian Wulff

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will be having a bilateral meeting with his German Federal Republican counterpart Christian Wulff at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta Thursday.

The meeting, according to Presidential Special Staff for International Relations Teuku Faizasyah on Wednesday would be part of President Wulff’s state visit to Indonesia from November 30 to December 2, 2011.

In the meeting, he said, the two heads of state will discuss various matters relating to the progress that had been reached in the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and followed by a state dinner.

"President Christian Wulff’s visit is expected to foster the diplomatic relations between the two countries, which will reach their 60th anniversary in 2012," Faiza said.

He said the two leaders will also explore increased cooperation in the future. The German president will also attend a business meeting with the Germany community in Indonesia and deliver a general lecture at Universitas Indonesia.

The German president was also scheduled to have a meeting with Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Taufik Kiemas and former Indonesian president B.J. Habibie, as well as with a number of religious, cultural and community leaders in Indonesia.

The German president is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on Wednesday night and leave the country on December 2 after visiting Kalibata Heroes Cemetery.
