German man charged in Los Angeles area arsons

LOS ANGELES — A German man was charged Wednesday with arson in connection with a rash of fires that terrorized Los Angeles over the New Year's weekend.
Los Angeles prosecutors filed dozens of counts against 24-year-old Harry Burkhart.
Burkhart is expected to make his initial court appearance later in the day. It wasn't immediately known if he had retained an attorney.
