Pro-Romney group to pump $2.3M into S.C. ads

Restore Our Future is making a $2.3 million ad buy and will begin airing ads Tuesday through primary day. The independent group confirmed the size of the ad buy, which was first reported by The New York Times.
Restore Our Future spent $3.3 million on advertising and direct-mail pieces in Iowa, largely to attack Newt Gingrich. The barrage, which included an ad mocking Gingrich's penchant for saying he made mistakes, contributed to the former House speaker's fourth-place finish in Iowa.
Carl Forti, a spokesman for Restore Our Future, told the Times that the group will air an ad in South Carolina that highlights Romney's record creating jobs in the private sector and his work for the 2002 Winter Olympics. The spot, which first aired in December, seeks to contrast Romney's job record with that of President Obama.
Romney has been strongly criticized in recent days for his private sector work by Gingrich, Jon Huntsman and Rick Perry.
