Rooney Mara's Lovers' Stroll with Charles McDowell

Enjoying some much-needed downtime, Rooney Mara was spotted strolling around New York City on Wednesday (January 11).

Walking along hand-in-hand with her main man Charles McDowell, "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" actress seemed to desire a low profile but couldn't escape the always-present photogs.

In related news, Mara - who has been tending to her jam-packed promotional schedule as of late - recently chatted about her character Lisbeth Salander with CBS News.

She told, "I think she is so appealing because you don't really know who she is and she's sort of someone who can't be defined. She can't be put in a neat little box and that makes her very compelling for people. You never know what you're going to get from her, she's very unpredictable."

"She's extremely strong and fierce, but in that same moment she also has a lot of vulnerability and she has all these contradicting sides to her," Ms Rooney added.
