WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED * Musician Ted Nugent is meeting with the Secret Service on Thursday after saying, "If Barack Obama becomes the next president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year." He told radio host Glenn Beck that he respects the Secret Service, look[s ]forward" to the meeting and has "never threatened anybody's life in my life." * President Obama took a not-so-veiled shot at former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney today, telling an Ohio audience, "I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth." ABC News reported earlier today that Ann Romney has a horse competing today in the World Cup for dressage, a very expensive sport. * Former House speaker Newt Gingrich is keeping his presidential campaign going out of duty. He told Human Events in an interview, "I owe it to the conservative movement to stay in the race." Meanwhile, when asked about his "Plan B," Gingrich told reporters, "I don't worry about that right now. I'm focused on the nomination....I'm quite happy with Plan A, frankly." * The anti-incumbent Campaign for Primary Accountability is bailing on Evan Feinberg, a former Hill staffer challenging Rep. Tim Murphy (R) in the GOP primary for Pennsylvania's 18th district. "The resources dedicated to that race will be re-allocated to competitive primaries with credible candidates elsewhere," said group spokesman Curtis Ellis. The primary is next Tuesday, and Feinberg failed to gain much traction. WHAT YOU SHOULDN'T MISS * Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) has endorsed former Rep. Mark Neumann in the GOP primary for Wisconsin's open Senate seat. Lee's Constitutional Conservatives Fund is supporting a number of anti-establishment candidates — Neumann is up against former governor Tommy Thompson in the primary. But the PAC has little to offer in the way of funds. * Former Sen. Connie Mack III (R-Fla.) has sent a letter to supporters of his son's Senate bid, defending Rep. Connie Mack IV (R-Fla.) against a recent St. Petersburg Times/Miami Herald story reporting that Republicans are worried about the campaign. We looked at Mack's campaign troubles here. Meanwhile, a new super PAC, Freedom PAC, is coming to Mack's aid. * An internal poll from the campaign of Richard Mourdock finds the Indiana state Treasurer tied with Sen. Dick Lugar (R) in the Republican primary. "With 20 days until the election, we are well-positioned for a victory on May 8th," Mourdock said. * Romney is aiming to meet with former Pennsylvania Rick Santorum in the next few weeks to discuss a possible endorsement. Adviser John Brabender told MSNBC that Santorum likely won't endorse before the meeting: "I think he feels it's important to have a discussion with Mitt Romney to make sure that the conservative wing of the party is certainly represented in a Romney administration." * Ohio state Treasurer Josh Mandel (R) is out with his first ad in his campaign against Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio). "Boots" highlights the young Republican's blue-collar background and service in Iraq. Mandel has reserved $540,000 in airtime, according to The Hill.
