WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED * New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) got into a tiff with a passerby while ordering ice cream on the Jersey Shore last night. After the man criticized Christie's education policy, the governor snapped back, "You're a real big shot! You're a real big shot shooting your mouth off!" he yells repeatedly in the video while walking towards the heckler, adding, "Keep walking away." * Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, held a rare press conference from his vacation home in New Hampshire today, calling the June jobs report "a kick in the gut." Romney also responded to those who say his own economic plans are too vague. "I have put out 59 steps for how I would get the economy going," he told reporters. "Take a look at them, I think you'll find them very specific." * An Ohio restaurant owner who served President Obama breakfast this morning died a few hours after the meeting, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Josephine "Ann" Harris, 70, was ecstatic about Obama's visit to Ann's Place and hugged the president. A few hours later, she started complaining of fatigue and a tingling feeling and was taken to the hospital, where she died. "I'm sure this was her highlight," Frankie Adkins, Harris' sister, told the Beacon Journal. "She loved Obama." * Another sign of Jon Huntsman's increasing disengagement from the GOP — the former Utah governor and presidential candidate will not attend the Republican National Convention. He's been at every convention since 1984.
WHAT YOU SHOULDN'T MISS * Celebrity mogul Donald Trump is considering attending the GOP convention, a top aide says, although he has "got an extremely busy schedule." Back in May Trump was touting the idea that he would speak at the event. * Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) and partner James Ready are married this weekend — at least, according to the Facebook page of Rep. Brad Miller (D-N.C.). "This is kind of new to me" Miller wrote of Frank's nuptials. "Are the etiquette rules the same? Packing tips?" Frank's spokesman wouldn't confirm the date. * An internal poll from Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz's campaign shows the conservative insurgent with a nine-point lead over Lt. Gov David Dewhurst in a runoff for the state's open Senate seat. Cruz kept Dewhurst below 50 percent in the GOP primary, forcing a July 31 runoff. * Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) is pushing for a constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling, which allowed for unlimited independent expenditures by corporations and unions, in a petition to supporters. Outside groups have spent $9.4 million attacking him and boosting state Treasurer Josh Mandel (R). "We don't know where all this money is coming from, and we don't know what kind of right-wing agenda those donors are pushing," he writes.
