Finished up with her Land Down Under press efforts, Vanessa Hudgens has moved on to her enviable promotional tour's next stop situated in the islands of Hawaii

The orange bikini-clad 23-year-old actress was spotted on Thursday (January 19) while enjoying a PDA-filled ocean romp with boyfriend Austin Butler before heading to the beaches to bask in the Pacific sunshine.

In the midst of promoting her upcoming movie "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," Miss Hudgens recently spoke with Aussie press about transitioning from being the kid-next-door to a 'proper' actor, of which she replied, "It's honestly just following your heart. I have been jumping into some really interesting, heavy, dark dramatic films recently. As long as you're passionate, you'll get there (laughs)."

As for being drawn to 'darker' roles as of late, the brunette beauty said, "It's just I'm growing up. And I'm not content doing the same thing. The whole process of creating the looks was amazing because I completely transformed into these unfortunate, I guess I'll say, characters who don't really have much of a voice. It's fun to put your fists up and fight for roles you want."
